What We Do

Veterans Need Better Treatment Options.

We underwrite substance use disorder and addiction treatment at high-quality, evidence-based treatment facilities for veterans suffering from addiction.

While the VA has made efforts to improve care for veterans, there are several systemic limitations that hinder its effectiveness in treating veterans with substance use disorders. These challenges include:

Long wait times. Veterans often face months-long waitlists for specialized care, leading to delays in treatment.
Understaffing and overwhelmed resources. The VA’s addiction treatment programs are frequently overburdened, limiting the capacity to provide individualized care.
A one-size-fits-all approach. VA treatment models may not offer the personalized, comprehensive care that veterans with complex, co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders need.
Stigma and cultural barriers. Some veterans may feel a sense of shame or fear of judgment when seeking help within the VA system, which can deter them from accessing necessary treatment.
Limited options for high-quality, trauma-informed care. Veterans may not have access to the holistic or alternative therapies that could be particularly effective for those with deep-rooted trauma.
